New-Age Aerobics

                           NEW AGE AEROBICS?

The truth is out there…does anyone know the URL? There are many

pathways to achieving the balanced state of fitness and health which is

potentially available to all. True fitness is a combination of the

physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual, and the development of

all components is the ideal goal.

However, I’m pretty much a get-on-and-do-it person who recognises that one has to start somewhere, and that is with the body. The body is the foundation of everything; we’re stuck with the soma for the duration. If we don’t nurture it and encourage it to function at its best, then all the striving to satisfy our

intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs will be stunted. Physical fitness is the fundamental requirement. Improve the quality of life of the body and you automatically enhance the successful development of all the other elements of fitness.

So, I’m a physical fitness kind of guy and I direct my efforts towards encouraging both young and old to exercise more frequently, to develop fitter, stronger, more enduring and flexible bodies. It’s an uncomplicated matter; animate the body, invigorate the cardiovascular system, stimulate muscle strength and flexibility, tune the body to perform more comfortably at higher energetic levels.

However, for New Age acolyte, Alternative Anita, bless her, life is

less uncomplicated, much more fraught. Persuaded, finally, to join a gym

where her physical fitness objectives can be satisfied, her routes to

fulfilment prove to be Byzantine. Her first move, she finds, is to

transport her powerful neutraliser of threats from geopathic stress and

electromagnetic fields to her health club, to protect the venue from sick

building syndrome. This successfully completed, she next arranges for her

friends to perform the sacred circle dance, as they link arms and revolve

around the building, chanting and dancing to celebrate the life within.

A Feng Shui enthusiast, Anita faces a further challenge in adapting

to the organised clutter of the gym. Her geomancers’ readings have

indicated that the stationary bikes and treadmills would be better

balanced with the lat machines and bench press stands if they were located

differently. Sadly, she’ll discover that all her efforts to relocate

equipment are frustrated by the  bolts fixing the offending machines to

the floor.

To ensure that the signs are propitious for her first workout at the

gym, and knowing it’s bad luck to be superstitious, indefatigable Anita

confers with some of her life-guides. First, the palms are perused, then,

the Tarot symbols scrutinized, the Runes read and her horoscope scanned,

to verify her decision to join the gym. Before leaving home for the

inaugural workout, and having  used only the purest aromatic essential

oils in preparation, she readies herself  with an Indian Head Massage.

Drawing on her Reiki classes for further reinforcement, she accesses the

Universal Life Energy force, activating the dormant powers within her to

touch her true essence.

Having practised her inner powers of visualization and affirmation, she has also meditated and stimulated her alpha brain wave activities, incidentally also awakening the Natural Woman and Earth Mother in herself, getting fully in touch with her intuitive self through celebrating her own creative child spirit.

She decides to reserve the Reflexology session on her feet and the

Meridian Therapy for another day and is confident that her Clairvoyant and

Psychic reader would have called her if there was anything untoward that

she should know. Anita is almost ready for the gym. She has enjoyed her

Aura Soma reading and discovered which colours should most fruitfully

appear on the leotard and tights she has packed in her kit bag ( though

she is a little apprehensive about the clashes that are bound to occur

with the outfits of the strangers with whom she is soon to integrate).

Into the bag, also, have gone her incense and crystals, together with a

small dream catcher which she hopes to hang unobtrusively from the ceiling

of the aerobic studio.

Before she moves to her car, she calls her Absent Healing consultant,

to let her know what time she intends to take her first aerobic class so

that should there be any injuries Selina will know where to reach her with

relief. Her final preparation is to activate her Aura-in-Motion, to ensure

that this accompanies her to the gym as her regular training partner, thus

cutting back on needless lift-scheme arrangements.

Suitably prepared, Anita is on her way to what, hopefully, should be

a life time commitment to physical exercise which should transform her

body into a more vital and user-friendly partner for life. It will be

through the movements of exercise that she’ll begin to get into a closer

relationship with her own body.

Many of us tend to be alarmingly out of touch with our physical essence. We drag the body around as an encumbrance; we suffer minor aches and discomforts, we carry needless fat that adds to poor posture and the slowing down of all our movements. We come to accept as the normal condition a sluggish, less than vibrant body upon which we never feel we can rely. We all live in a yellow subroutine!

Regular, moderate exercise as an essential part of your life routine

will transform your body into the sympathetic partner in every venture in

your life which it should be. A fit body frees the individual to realise

all the potentials that are circumscribed when it is neglected and

functions sub-optimally. Why don’t you join Anita and her aura at her

health club; all the signs are positively in favour of your well-being and

success.
